DESCRIPTION: Treat your family to a true dude ranch experience at Nine Quarter Circle Ranch, which dates back to the 1800s but offers today’s modern conveniences. The Ranch breeds, raises, and trains its own Appaloosa strain based on the Quarter Horse breed. Every guest has one horse during the entire visit, and can saddle up for daily rides, overnight pack trips or extended pack trips to the spectacular Taylor Hilgard Wilderness Area and the National Forest surrounding the ranch. Western riding instruction is offered every Monday, with general assistance from knowledgeable staff during the week. While adults are busy photographing, hiking, fishing and exploring this magnificent country, the Kiddie Wrangler entertains the 6-9 year olds, teaching them to ride and leading the Rough Riders on their own daily trail rides. The Babysitter looks after children under six on the playground or at the barn with a short lead ride around the pasture. The weekly picnic and marshmallow roast is a hit with kids of all ages. Other children's activities include volleyball and softball games and a Gym Khana (games on horseback) every Saturday at the corral. Guests can also kick up those heels at the Saturday night square dance.

ATTENTION QUILTERS: The 14th Annual Montana Cowgirl Quilt Retreat will be held at the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch, August 24-31, 2008 and August 31-September 7, 2008. The retreat features international quilt teachers Georgia Bonesteel and Charlotte Warr-Andersen, who will each design something for the ranch. Join us for a wonderful week of quilting, riding camaraderie and wonderful scenery. Bring your spouse and he or she can enjoy the riding and fishing while you quilt to your heart’s content!
